The elements :-

According to ayurveda our body has been composed by five elements.

* Air: Air is the gaseous state of matter, existence without form. Air is the vital for all living creatures, it is essential for establishing location in the body, such as the area between the cells in lungs or between body parts. Air is very impotent for all kind of movement in the body.

* Fire: Fire is the power of transformation that can convert a substance from solid to liquid to gas. The activity of fire governs digestion and absorption in living organism.

* Water: Water is the liquid state of matter whose characteristic attribute is flux, substance without stability. It is the life sustaining liquid and cooling elements which maintains electrolyte balance, nourish all the creatures.

* Space (Ether): Space is the all pervading “Home” for all objects in universe, the field from which everything is manifested and into which everything returns.

* Earth: Earth is the solid state of matter, whose characteristic attribute is stability or fixity. It gives form to body.

All five elements flow throughout the entire body.

The three Doshas (Bio energy).

According to ayurveda there is one most important reason of diseases is imbalance of three doshas or bio energy, in Sanskrit it called “Tri Doshas”.

There are three types of constitution in ayurvedic system, based on the three dosahas, the various combinations of the five elements Vata (Air and Space), Pitta (Fire and Water) and kapha (water and earth).

* Vata (Air)- The dosha of vata is composed of the elements of air and space. Vata is mainly concerned with nervous system and the control of all body movement.

Pitta (Fire)- The pitta constitution is composed of fire along with little water. It controls the body’s balance of kinetic and potential energies processes digestion the food and producing the energy for body.

Kapha (Water)- Kapha types are composed primarily of the heavily elements of water and earth. The tissues and wastes of the body are the province of kapha. Kapha is the principle of potential energy. It controls body stability and lubrication.

When these three doshas are not in harmony in the body then some kind of disease takes place.

Ayurveda makes balance in three dosha and make peoples healthy.
